For groups who would like a more complete experience, the Museum offers an educational package containing a guided tour including a series of 4 workshops.
The guided tour, which lasts 45 minutes, covers the main stages of Operation Overlord through 6 stops dealing with the following themes :
For the workshop part, students will have 45 minutes to solve an investigation using various clues provided and their personal knowledge. In a scenario based on a real mission from Operation Overlord, high school and middle school students will be invited to take the place of soldiers from the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division.
On the morning of July 9, after several hours of combat, they finally penetrate the Abbey of Ardenne but find it deserted by the German headquarters. It’s up to them to find the new position of the latter.
This fun group workshop will allow them to work on subjects such as history and English, but it also represents a way to promote teamwork and communication.
